- "Pa'tash. They are a form of wild vermin, O'Neill, and are very similar to a type of creature we have back on Chulak."
"Ok, so you are pretty sure it's safe, but how does it taste?"
"Much like your Earth squirrels." - ―Teal'c and Colonel Jack O'Neill[src]
Pa'tash are a type of vermin that Jaffa and Aturen have recognized on some planets. The planet Phoenix Site and the town of Haven are located has pa'tash. There's also a similar type of creature on Chulak.
Pa'tash are tunnel dwellers that usually live near Stargates. Tok'ra believe they "travel" as young pa'tash seek out warmth in bags, boxes, and other containers. Phoenix Site checks all outbound transports, so they don't accident export an invasive species.
History[]
2002[]
When SG-1 scouted the planet that would become Phoenix Site, Teal'c found and cooked a pa'tash. According to him it tastes like Earth squirrels. He also observed that the pa'tash on Phoenix Site's planet appear to be prey for the Rac'ta.
During Sector E's tunnel excavation, one of Doctor Roberta Emmen's crew members heard purring sounds in a side tunnel. She guessed it was another pa'tash nest and set a night shift text report to her brother Michael Emmen, asking if his team could check it out. He didn't find any pa'tash but Hadra confirmed the sound. By his next dayshift report, he heard it as well with Hadra but found no trace. Roberta heard the purr again but no longer thought it was a pa'tash as it was too even and requested a Marine escort until first contact.
Kailee secretly befriended a pa'tash that she keeps in her room.
During a HOME planetary relocation check, a young immigrant attempted to bring a pa'tash with her. The pa'tash was confiscated to protect their destinations native ecosystem. (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
