The Oceani are an aquatic Tau'ri race from the planet Oceanus. They appear humanoid and have breathing gills behind their ears.
History[]
Long ago, the Lord of Salt Waters experimented to create aquatic Tau'ri. When the oceans rose on Oceanus, the people begged the god to leave them a sliver of land. Olokun then came and told the people that the Lord of Salt Waters was a "demon possessing a human body" and the people of Oceanus overthrew the Lord.
During the "Great Drowning", the process was slow enough that they could erect domes to protect some of their larger cities.
They offered to trade with Phoenix Site and considered their request about the material they used to make their domes. (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
Culture[]
The Oceani are a friendly race. They sustain themselves by fishing and farming kelp. A large type of fish helps with the kelp harvests and smaller creatures aid in their fishing efforts. Their relationship appears symbiotic, as the creatures assist willingly and they receive a share of the produce. (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
