She was the daughter of Turghan and his wife. She was originally set to marry Chimakka but was in love with Abu. In 1997, she attempted to escape with Abu but was caught. Turghan ordered her to be stoned to death but Captain Samantha Carter challenged him to a fight to the death and won but spared his life and Nya was free to marry Abu. (SG1: "Emancipation")
