Novus colony is a planet in a distant galaxy and has a Stargate.
Colonizing
Sometime before 2010 became the planet colonized by People of Novus after people discovered their home planet becoming uninhabitable due to a black hole and dangerous to stay at. Thirty years before Destiny arrived at the planet so had most of the population from Novus fled to the planet through the Stargate before it was lost in a lava flow.
Present history
In 2010 the colonist from one colony was transported of Destiny expedition. And the planet is ten days in FTL from Novus and two hundred years without FTL capable of evacuation ship. The ships which left the Novus are on their way to the colony and the trip would take two hundred because the ships do not have FTL-capable. (SGU: "Epilogue")
