Normandy is a geographical region of France corresponding to the former Duchy of Normandy. During World War II, the D Day landings took place on the Normandy beaches. Emmett Bregman referred to these when arguing for more access to Stargate Command for his documentary. (SG1: "Heroes, Part 1")
