A Naquadah dampener was a rare chemical that prevented a Goa'uld, Tok'ra, or the former host of either from sensing the naquadah in other symbiotes. In 2004, the Goa'uld within Kianna Cyr used the drug to mask herself from Samantha Carter and Teal'c of Chulak as both Sam and Teal'c could sense the presence of a symbiote.
