Myers was the lead entomologist assigned to Earth's Gamma Site facility as of 2006.
Biography[]
2006[]
One of his projects, the study of a species of insect known as R-75, was shown to a group of delegates from the International Oversight Advisory as an example of the work being conducted at the facility. Not long afterward, Myers accidentally triggered a reproductive cycle in the creatures by feeding them some meatloaf. Having been away from the lab for a time, he failed to notice the effect until their large numbers were enough to burst out of the containment unit, allowing them to escape. Myers quickly initiated an emergency protocol to destroy the insects, but was bitten in the process; despite being cleared by the base's medical facility, he later collapsed; while being sent back to Earth, a number of specimens of R-75 emerged from Myers's body swarming the Stargate room. Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter speculated that the creature that bit him had laid eggs in his body; upon hatching, they had consumed him from the inside, resulting in Myers's death. (SG1: "The Scourge")
