Motorcycles are two-wheeled vehicles created by the Tau'ri, with the primary purpose of transporting an individual from one place to another. They are operated by a rider, using a handgrip throttle to accelerate, handlebars to steer, handlebar-attached levers for front brake and clutch operation, and pedals for rear brake operation and gear shifting. Like most other vehicles native to Earth, they rely on internal combustion engines and require gasoline for fuel. The rider may require a helmet and other impact and abrasion-resistant clothing to prevent serious injury in the event of an accident.

In 2000, then Major Samantha Carter and MSgt. Sylvester Siler worked together to restore a classic American motorcycle (Indian) during SG-1's offtime. (SG1: "The Curse")
In 2006, Major Samantha Carter rushes to the briefing room to meet with Warrick while still wearing her riding gear and helmet, appearing to have commuted to the SGC by motorcycle. (SG1: "Space Race")
Later, in 2006, Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell commandeered a motorcycle from a civilian, after an amnesia-stricken Vala Mal Doran was captured by agents of the Trust who were posing as Carter at a Police station. Mitchell gave chase to the agents' car on the motorcycle, until the car crashed when Vala overpowered the driver. After extricating herself from the ruined car, Vala captured Mitchell and carjacked a passer-by, leaving the motorcycle behind. (SG1: "Memento Mori")
