Mordred was a Knight of the Round Table who rebelled against King Arthur.
Biography[]
Background information[]
According to the Tau'ri legends, Mordred and Arthur mortally wounded each other at the Battle of Camlann. However, the people of Camelot said that Arthur survived the battle, killing Mordred. (SG1: "Camelot")
When Myrddin awoke from stasis, in a daze, he believed that Ba'al was Mordred. After hearing his insolent talking, he used his powers to manipulate Ba'al's vocal cords, causing him to lose the ability to speak. Sadly this wore off when Myrddin died. (SG1: "The Quest, Part 2")
Furthermore, by some accounts, Mordred was actually a Goa'uld, son of the System Lord Manannan mac Lir. Manannan's holdings on Earth included the area where Arthur resided, and Arthur raised a rebellion against the Goa'uld's rule. Manannan's queen, Morgause seduced Arthur and her human host became pregnant with a child. The child was implanted with a Goa'uld, Mordred, who would go on to slay Arthur and end his rebellion. He would go on to become his father's chief underlord, being both an expert warrior and skilled tactician. Manannan keeps a close eye on his skilled son, waiting for the inevitable treachery.
