The Mines of Aldbeth were naquadah mines on the planet Abydos, which had been active during the final days of Ra. The mines were one of the largest finds of naquadah in the last thousand years. (RPG: "Roleplaying Game")

History[]

500 years ago, a sandstorm exposed the cliffs. After their discovery, a small number of people started to mine there with little success. The first major discovery was found after several years. Workers were reassigned to Aldbeth.

Since that time all mining took place there, with several thousand workers that mined every day. They made the several mile journey from Nagada in the morning and evening. Since Ra refused to give the Abydonians any technology, all work was done by hand. A long human train passed down the ore to be sifted through and the pieces of naquadah removed. The largest piles of rubble were cleared away by giant Mastadges.

After the fall of Ra, a small number of Abydonians continued to work the mines. Some were still convinced of Ra's divinity and foresaw the return of their god and remained loyal subjects to the end. As the years went by, their number slowly dwindled to nothing. By the time Anubis arrived in the Battle of Abydos, the mines of Aldbeth were empty. (RPG: "Roleplaying Game")
