2007[]
During the fateful day off, before the death of Dr. Carson Beckett, he noticed Dr. Elizabeth Weir was still working. He invited her for a lunch date. She was at first hesitant, as Weir made it her personal rule never to become involved romantically with a fellow expedition member. He insisted that it was just a co-worker discussion lunch date. Weir later agreed. After lunch, he confessed that he was fond of her, and even kissed her, which he admitted was out of line. It is unknown what happened to him after that fateful day.
