Dr. Michael Emmen was a male Tau'ri geologist, who was a part of Phoenix Site. He was the twin of Dr. Roberta Emmen.
Biography[]
During the tunnel excavation of Sector E of Phoenix Site, one of his sister's crew members heard purring sounds in a side tunnel. Roberta guessed it was another pa'tash nest and set a night shift text report to Michael, and asked if his team could check it out. He didn't find any pa'tash but Hadra confirmed the sound. By his next dayshift report, he heard it as well with Hadra but found no trace. Roberta heard the purr again but no longer thought it was a pa'tash as it was too even and requested a Marine escort until first contact. Michael then considered the possibility that it was a machine and asked about sealing the tunnel, but she declined as they were more than halfway done with clearing the sector. She then suggested using Tok'ra tunnel crystals but Michael didn't want to risk a reaction with the possible machine.[3] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
