Melena Omi was a female Satedan who worked in a hospital on Sateda. She was engaged to Ronon Dex.

Biography

1998

In 1998, during the Wraith attack on Sateda, Ronon tried to convince her to leave Sateda with Kell's staff. However, she refused, saying the Hospital was going to need her. Ronon had to stay and fight, while she stayed in the hospital. After all of Ronon's soldiers were killed, he went to the hospital to try and convince her to leave again, but she again refused. Mere seconds later, Melena was killed in an explosion. Upon being made a Runner again, Ronon was returned to Sateda and had flashbacks of the fall of the planet, including Melena's death. He took cover in the same spot she died in as 25 Wraith came after him all at once. (SGA: "Sateda")

2006

Melena's death and that of the rest of Sateda was avenged when Dr. Carson Beckett killed the Wraith Leader responsible for the attack with a Puddle Jumper's drone weapons. (SGA: "Sateda")

2007

Ronon mentioned at one point to Dr. Jennifer Keller that he was never married, but "close enough." Ronon confirms to Dr. Radek Zelenka that he had been betrothed to a Satedan and it was Melena. (SGA: "Quarantine", "Legacy: Homecoming")

2009

When talking to Dr. Jennifer Keller about her reluctance to take Dr. Rodney McKay to the Shrine of Talus to treat his Second Childhood, Ronon asks if Keller would've listened if Melena or any of the other Satedan doctors had told her about the Shrine. Ronon tells Keller that while Melena didn't know how the Shrine worked, she knew it was effective as did every Satedan. (SGA: "The Lost")
