"Okay, I've put Jeanie in a medically induced coma, and I've broken her legs."
Dr. Rodney McKay[src]

A Medically induced coma is a state of unconsciousness that occurs through medical means.

History[]

In 2005, after Sgt. Bates was badly injured by the wraith "Bob", Dr. Carson Beckett put him in a medically induced coma until his subdural hematoma could be dealt with. (SGA: "The Siege, Part 1")

Carson put Lt. Colonel John Sheppard in a medically induced coma while he was mutating from the Iratus bug retrovirus. (SGA: "Conversion")

In 2007, Dr. Rodney McKay put his sister Jean Miller in a medically induced coma and broke her legs in order to slow down the nanites in her system before they could stop her brain to repair her epilepsy. It had bought them at least ten hours. (SGA: "Miller's Crossing")
