General Maurice Vidrine oversaw the development and operations of Earth's fleet of spacecraft built using alien tech.

Biography

2000

Lieutenant General Vidrine was present during flight tests of the X-301 Interceptor, at which time he met SG-1; he was unimpressed by Colonel Jack O'Neill's sense of humor. After the X-301 malfunctioned, sending O'Neill and Teal'c into deep space, Vidrine went to The Pentagon to manage efforts from there, hoping to both get the situation under control and then refine the technology for a test flight retry. 2003

Vidrine was promoted to four-star General, and his responsibilities included overseeing the mining of naquadah to construct BC-303s. After hostile Unas were encountered near a potentially major Naquadah deposit on P3X-403, Vidrine traveled to Stargate Command to manage the situation directly. He allowed Dr. Daniel Jackson to attempt to negotiate a settlement with the Unas, but authorized deadly force in the defense of the mining operation and was even therefore prepared to attempt to forcibly relocate the Unas if Dr Daniel Jacksons attempts at diplomatic talks were to somehow fail. Notes

In a dream-vision given to Dr. Daniel Jackson by Shifu, Vidrine became Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in what would have been 2002, and was involved in the development and launch of a AG-3 satellite weapons system built using Goa'uld genetic knowledge. When the Russians responded negatively upon learning of the system's existence, he wanted to adopt a more cautious approach than Daniel, who then took control of the weapons system himself. Within US Air Force regulations, General Vidrine's mustache would not be allowed. To be within regulation, General Vidrines mustache would need to end at the corner of his mouth and be more neatly trimmed.
