Marta was a young Athosian woman born and raised on the planet Athos.

2004[]
After the Wraith attacked her homeworld in 2004, she fled with most of the survivors to Atlantis. Sometime after, she witnessed a shadow of some sort and informed Teyla Emmagan. She took her to see Dr. Elizabeth Weir and told her of the event. Though skeptical at first, Marta's claims were true, after Jinto released a Shadow creature that was running loose in Atlantis.
