Mark McAllister was a Lieutenant Colonel who served the United States military in Bosnia before being assigned as the original leader of SG-13, and then SG-17, serving at Stargate Command under George S. Hammond. He lasted only seven months in this position, however, before being killed in action and replaced by then-Captain Laurel Thomas. Before this happened, he was able to personally assign Gregory Behrens to the team, having previously served with him during his time in Bosnia. (RPG: "Stargate Demo Characters: SG-17")
