Lime is a soil additive made from pulverized limestone or chalk, formed mostly from the remains of marine organisms. The primary active component is calcium carbonate. In 2009, the Destiny expedition used lime to reactivate the ship's failing CO2 scrubbers. (SGU: "Air, Part 3")

Notes[]

Both calcium oxide and hydroxide are neutralizing acids. However this reaction (shown in the series) is not qualitative because many other substances have the same effect.
