The Lightning Guards were Jaffa in the service of the Goa'uld Raiden. They served along with the Thunder Guards, with both groups training at a remote monastery in the mountains near the capital city of the planet Kyoto. They were equipped with advanced staff weapons known as Lightning staves, which made the staff blast appear to be a lightning bolt. (RPG: "Fantastic Frontiers: Stargate Season One")
