"Is there lemon on the chicken?"

Lemon chicken is a dish from Earth. Because of his alleged allergy to citrus fruits, Dr. Rodney McKay always avoids eating this food. Lemon chicken is often served in the Stargate Command mess hall and possibly the Atlantis mess hall. (SG1: "48 Hours", "The Pegasus Project", SGA: "Rising")

Alternate timelines[]

In an alternate timeline where Ra took Earth's Stargate in 3000 BC, Dr. Rodney McKay was not allergic to lemon and lemon chicken was his favorite dish. It is possible that the McKay in the original timeline was mistaken, and neither McKay is alergic to citrus - it seems unlikely that SG-1's actions that created the alternate timeline would affect McKay's personal immune system. McKay is never seen having a genuine allergic reaction, and his various "allergies" may be an expression of hypochondriasis. (SG1: "Moebius, Part 1")
