The ocean is home to the Flagisallus. Due to the vast amount of ocean, every 20 to 30 years, the ocean causes a massive storm. (SGA: "The Storm")

Dr. Rodney McKay was once trapped in the back of a Puddle Jumper when it was sinking. The scientists were having trouble pinpointing his location because the ocean's currents go several different directions at once. (SGA: "Grace Under Pressure")
