"I miss Thor."
Daniel Jackson

Kvasir was an Asgard scientist who was dispatched to assist SG-1 on occasion. He displayed a rather pompous and aloof manner, which failed to endear him to the humans with whom he worked; though he did not share the somewhat negative attitude of other Asgard such as Hermiod or Freyr.

Biography

SG-1 first met Kvasir when SG-1 teams from various alternate realities were arriving through the Stargate; since both Thor and Heimdall were away on sensitive business in another galaxy. Kvasir provided an Asgard time dilation device to aid SG-1 in closing the inter-universal pathways, and provided assistance in calibrating the explosive device to be used in conjunction with it. He did not accompany SG-1 on its actual mission, but did later agree to loan an Asgard energy weapon to the SGC when another means of solving the problem presented itself. After a few conversations with him, Daniel Jackson remarked that he missed Thor. (SG1: "Ripple Effect")

Kvasir accompanied an O'Neill-class ship to the Ori Supergate at P3Y-229, where he worked with Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter to attempt to disable it. Before this effort could be completed, a fleet of Ori motherships arrived through the Supergate; he remained aboard the Odyssey during the ensuing battle, and afterward assisted the Odyssey's crew in recovering Carter and conducting repairs to the ship, including its Asgard transporters. (SG1: "Camelot", "Flesh and Blood")

Carter later stated that the Asgard subsequently attempted to dial out from the Supergate, but failed. It seems likely that Kvasir was involved in this effort as well, but it is never explicitly so stated. (SG1: "The Pegasus Project")

Fate

Presumably, Kvasir died along with the rest of the Asgard with the destruction of Orilla in 2007. (SG1: "Unending")

Background

Kvasir also appeared in 200. He was the Asgard in the wedding segment.
