Kel shak lo is a Jaffa ritual where a warrior battles with another warrior within the Sodan which leads to one of them dying, essentially a fight to the death. Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell and Jolan fought in this, but both survived due to Jolan's help and Mitchell was thereby saved. Mitchell would later use the fighting techniques he obtained from training on future missions. In the ritual, two Krantus are used and all other means of defense or offense is used, except for talking. (SG1: "Babylon")
Mitchell later informed Valencia on Camelot that "broomstick battles with my kid brother and the Sodan ritual of Kel shak lo made me the nimble warrior that I am today".(SG1: "Camelot")
