She found evidence of a secret military organization that got big funding (the Stargate Command). She, together with a TV crew, was allowed entrance into the facility of Prometheus. After her findings she signed a non-disclosure agreement but was told that she would get any news before it would be made public, as a bribe not to reveal anything before that time. During the tour of the Prometheus, she was taken hostage by rogue NID agents who hijacked the ship. She was later beamed to Stargate Command by Thor. (SG1: "Prometheus", "Unnatural Selection")

She also interviewed Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter during the Colson incident on !nside Access. Carter displayed Chimera to disprove Alec Colson claims. (SG1: "Covenant")
2005[]
Later, in 2005, she provided coverage regarding the "destruction" of a skyscraper in Seattle; the building was actually rigged to explode by Ba'al, and was beamed into space before it exploded. She found the cover story where it collapsed suspicious, due to the very limited debris on the ground. (SG1: "Ex Deus Machina")

- In an alternate reality to which Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter accidentally traveled in 2007, Julia Donovan was likewise a reporter and news anchorwoman for !nside Access, where she updated the people of Earth about the goings on in the Stargate Program. (SG1: "The Road Not Taken")
