Jolan of Geshrel was a Jaffa and member of the Sodan. He was the brother of Volnek.
Biography[]
2005[]
After Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell and Jolan's brother Volnek seriously wounded each other in the Sodan's first encounter with SG-1, Jolan treated Mitchell's injury and trained him to fight in the Kel shak lo ritual in which Jolan intended to kill him due to believing that Mitchell had killed his brother. During the training, he started to respect Mitchell and agreed that the Ori were not gods, eventually agreeing to help him return to Earth by faking his death during the ritual. Upon returning to Earth, Mitchell learned that Volnek was in fact still alive and sent him back to the Sodan. (SG1: "Babylon")
2006[]
Eventually, however, Haikon and the others realized that the Ori were no better than the Goa'uld. He renounced Origin, and aided the Tau'ri in their efforts to capture the Prior Damaris, so that they might manufacture a cure to the Ori plague. (SG1: "The Fourth Horseman, Part 2")
Jolan was killed by Volnek when he went mad due to the actions of a Prior, slaughtering him and the rest of their village. (SG1: "Arthur's Mantle")
