The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) are a group of military leaders in the United States armed forces who advise the Secretary of Defense and President of the United States. It is comprised of a Chairman and Vice Chairman as well as the Chief of Staffs of all four branches of the armed forces.
When a Kelownan delegation came to Earth requesting military technology in return for Naquadria, Major General George S. Hammond, at the request of Colonel Jack O'Neill, made a direct recommendation to the Joint Chiefs that the Kelownans should not be trusted. (SG1: "Shadow Play")
