The Johns Hopkins University (JHU), commonly referred to as Johns Hopkins and informally as Hopkins, is a private research university located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America. It is one of the world's leading research and educational institutions, and is particularly noted in the fields of medicine, public health, and international relations.
Johns Hopkins is also home to the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI), the science and missions operations center for the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), operated for NASA by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA).
