Jinto playing "Major John Sheppard" hunting "Wraith".
When the Athosians moved to Atlantis, he and Wex were playing a Hide and seek like game, with Wex being the role of the Wraith, while Jinto looked for Wex as Sheppard. However, Jinto accidentally got into a transporter which moved him to a lab, which was containing a Shadow creature that fed off energy. Jinto accidentally released the entity, but he was unharmed. (SGA: "Hide and Seek")
2009[]
When Atlantis returns to the Pegasus Galaxy after the Battle of the Super-hive, Teyla visits New Athos and encounters Jinto. She is left stunned by how much he has grown. He is later seen working in the fields shortly before the Raid on New Athos. (SGA: "Legacy: Homecoming")
A few days after the Raid on New Athos, Jinto brings some Athosian goat milk to Atlantis in trade. (SGA: "The Lost")
Teyla reported to Sheppard that Jinto had been begging his father to allow Radek to take him as an apprentice. (SGA: "Inheritors")
2010[]
When Teyla and McKay visit New Athos to propose scouting the city of Emege on Athos for resettlment, Jinto is one of the Athosians who greets them. By now, the sixteen year old Jinto is taller than Teyla with his dark hair held back in a ponytail and strong enough to effortlessly lift a wheelbarrow full of at least seventy pounds of goat milk that he was supposed to deliver to Atlantis as per their trade agreement along with a satchel that had to be at least twenty pounds. The satchel proves to contain engineering textbooks that Jinto had borrowed from Dr. Radek Zelenka and Jinto explains that he has been getting tutoring from Zelenka during his trade missions. Jinto has been learning science, mathmatics, English and engineering with Zelenka calling Jinto a very good student. However, Jinto has to keep his lessons a secret as such technology is not the Athosian way of doing things although he greatly aspires to become an engineer. While the cost of doing such a thing would mean no longer being an Athosian like Teyla, Jinto suggests that they need to change what being an Athosian means. As he is nearly a man now, Halling can't stop Jinto from reading textbooks.
Jinto later sits in the back of the Athosian Council meeting, although his age means that he doesn't participate in the discussion. While Teyla and McKay wait for the results, Jinto joins them and explains that the Manarians don't really care, but some of the Athosians do, feeling like the city is a war grave and a shrine that shouldn't be disturbed. While they wait for the response, Jinto asks McKay to help him with his homework from Zelenka. (SGA: "The Mysteries of Emege")
Future[]
A future Jinto returned through time to the Battle of Atlantis as part of a team including Torren John Emmagan sent to ensure Dr. Zelenka survives to repair the Control chair in time to save the city. In that future, approximately twenty years distant, Jinto was a grown man and had a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from an unnamed university on Earth. He apparently developed a friendly bond with Zelenka in the intervening years, which inspired him to seek Tau'ri education in Zelenka's field. Jinto went by the name "Dr. Hallingson" as an adult. (SGA: "A Blade of Atlantis")
Alternate realities[]
- In the alternate reality created by Charybdis designated as Charybdis +32, Jinto was one of the Athosians who survived the cataclysm that destroyed Lantea, leaving the survivors to make a life for themselves around Atlantis' remains which ended up buried on the mainland due to shifting of the planet caused by Charybdis. As an adult, Jinto had become the leader of his people following Halling's death with his childhood best friend Wex as his trusted advisor. However, Jinto never felt that it was his place and he remained close friends with Teyla Emmagan. Jinto married Pirna and had two children, one of whom was named after his father and considered naming his daughter after Teyla. After Wex and his men found and rescued the injured alternate John Sheppard following the crash of his Puddle Jumper in the Lantea ocean, Jinto and Wex and Wex's men kept the discovery of Sheppard a secret due to how skittish the Athosians currently were around new people due to a recent famine. (SGA: "Mirror Mirror")

Notes[]
- It is unknown whether Jinto's future surname, "Hallingson", corresponds to Athosian custom or whether most Athosians do not use surnames (although at least Teyla does) and Jinto took the name in order to fit in on Earth when he went to study there. In any case, the name follows the ancient Scandinavian naming scheme (i.e., patronyms), the legacy of which can still be seen in many modern Scandinavian surnames. Athosian culture appears at least in part inspired by ancient Scandinavia, so the naming scheme may well be present in their society; else, Jinto may have found out about or been made aware of the Scandinavian custom when he arrived on Earth and needed a surname.
