Jaffa armor is an armor that served as both protection and a uniform.[2] It consisted of a standard suit of chain armor with armor plates over the top. It also could be accompanied with a helmet specific to a System Lord.[5] Jaffa soldiers also wear a cervelliere or go bareheaded.[6] (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "Bloodlines", RPG: "Living Gods: Stargate System Lords", RPG: "Core Rulebook")
Overview[]
Designed to repel all but the most powerful forms of kinetic damage, standard Jaffa armor was tough and resilient.[1] It was comprised of light tempered metals that could protect reasonably well against simple weapons and bullets.[2] The exact design varied between the System Lords.[1] (RPG: "Fantastic Frontiers: Stargate Season One", RPG: "Core Rulebook")
The Goa'uld preferred their shock troopers lightly armored to cover more ground and rarely saw value in protecting their Jaffa for longer than the span of a charge or short conflict, though the Jaffa that distinguished themselves could be granted heavier armor.[2] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
Those that were chosen to become members of a Goa'uld's elite Guard were given a stylized armor which was usually a symbol of an animal considered sacred or personal to the Goa'uld.[7] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
Some Goa'uld also wore the armor. Apophis and Heru'ur both wore gold armor. (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "Secrets")
