The Ilempiri are a humanoid species from Atropos, located in the Milky Way galaxy.
Biology[]
The Ilmepiri look like humans in appearance, but have a unique physiology that prevents them from becoming host to Goa'uld symbiotes. This presented the race with a distinct edge over the Goa'uld. But when the parasitic species learned of it they forced Aris Boch's race into subservience, and conceived the drug roshna. The entire race is dependent upon the drug, which they must ingest on a regular basis in order to survive. (SG1: "Deadman Switch")
It was the Ancients who modified the Ilempri to be resistant to certain Goa'uld technologies such as Zats, and made them resistant to infestation. (SG1: "Siren Song")
Aris Boch is hopeful that an antidote to the drug will be discovered, and gave Major Samantha Carter a sample for her to study in the hopes that one day his people may be freed from their subservience. (SG1: "Deadman Switch")
Behind the scenes[]
The unpublished Fallout: Stargate Season Three sourcebook for the Stargate SG-1 Roleplaying Game developed by Alderac Entertainment Group named Aris Boch's race as the Ilempiri[1], which was later confirmed to be their name in the Stargate Roleplaying Game: Core Rulebook.[2]
