"I need to eat regularly, otherwise I become hypoglycemic."
Dr. Rodney McKay[src]

Hypoglycemia is the medical term for a state produced by a lower than normal level of blood glucose. Rodney McKay claimed to suffer from this condition. (SGA: "Thirty-Eight Minutes")

History[]

In 2002, while at the SGC, Dr. Rodney McKay ate some food that tasted worst then it looked but ate anyway as he told Sam Carter that it beat having a hypoglycemic reaction. (SG1: "48 Hours")

In 2004, while trapped in a Puddle Jumper, he asked Aiden Ford for food as he was teetering on the brink of a hypoglycemic reaction. Ford gave him a power bar to eat while he kept working. (SGA: "Thirty-Eight Minutes")

In 2007, when McKay's body was augmented to make him capable of ascending, AR-1 talked about McKay's eating habits. Rodney told them that he was the same exact weight as when he got to Atlantis and that he needed to eat regularly otherwise he would become hypoglycemic. (SGA: "Tao of Rodney")
