The title of this article is conjectural. While the information presented in this article is canonical, the article subject lacks an official name, thus the title is a conjecture.

This article is about the hive ship destroyed by the Lagrangian Point satellite. You may be looking for the ship destroyed with a Genii A-bomb or the one destroyed by the Daedalus.

This unidentified hive ship, alongside two other hive ships and several Wraith cruisers, constituted the first wave sent by the Wraith against a Tau'ri-controlled Atlantis. It was the first hive ship to be destroyed by the Atlantis expedition.

History[]

In 2004, the Atlantis expedition inadvertedly woke the Wraith up from hibernation after their Keeper learned of a new, rich feeding ground from Colonel Marshall Sumner: Earth. While Colonel Sumner refused to reveal its exact coordinates, the Wraith believed they could access it through the control of Atlantis itself, which was highly vulnerable due to lack of Zero Point Modules to power its shield. (SGA: "Rising", "The Gift")

To that end, after a reconnaissance mission involving a Wraith Dart, they sent a fleet of three hive ships (including this one) and accompanying cruisers to capture the city. The Atlantis expedition eventually discovered the fleet's approach using newly-discovered long range sensors and estimated the Wraith would arrive in two weeks. En route, the fleet culled the home planet of Orin, an old friend of Teyla Emmagan. (SGA: "The Brotherhood", "Letters from Pegasus")

Dr. Rodney McKay and Dr. Radek Zelenka discovered that the Wraith fleet will pass near the Lagrangian Point satellite, the last remaining Lantean defense platform that was found previously near the other habitable planet of the Lantean system. Dr. McKay, Dr. Peter Grodin and Lt. Lou Miller reached the satellite via a Puddle Jumper and, after conducting some repairs and attaching a naquadah generator, successfully destroyed this particular hive ship with the satellite's beam weapon. This was the first ever Tau'ri victory against a Wraith hive ship, a moment for the inhabitants of Atlantis to celebrate. However, the satellite malfunctioned and the remaining Wraith ships destroyed it while Dr. Grodin was still onboard (Dr. McKay and Lt. Miller escaped in the Puddle Jumper), allowing them to continue their advance. (SGA: "The Siege, Part 1")
