This unidentified hive ship was involved in the Battle of the Black Hole against the Tau'ri battlecruiser Odyssey in 2006.
History[]
This hive ship was relatively close to the former star system that hosted a black hole when the Tau'ri warship Odyssey’s crew unsuccessfully detonated a nuclear warhead in their attempts to jump a wormhole between two Stargates in the Pegasus and the Milky Way galaxies in order to activate the Supergate and prevent the Ori Army from sending more Ori warships as reinforcements for their crusade in the Milky Way. The hive’s approach was detected by Atlantis, which was unable to directly warn the Odyssey about the threat due to interference from the black hole, forcing the Atlantis expedition to contact the Stargate Command, which forwarded the warning to Teal'c who in turn was in an Al'kesh near the Supergate, on the receiving end of the intergalactic wormhole through which he informed the Odyssey.
The Odyssey’s sensors were unable to detect the Wraith hive ship’s emergence from hyperspace, and as soon as the Tau’ri warship Odyssey moved away from the black hole, that is when the Wraith hive ship immediately fired upon them. Since they cannot fire back, Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter suggested luring the hive closer to the wormhole in hopes that the interference would disable the jamming field, allowing to beam over a nuke. The Odyssey headed towards the black hole, with the Wraith hive ship in hot pursuit, while the Odyssey performed an incredibly risky slingshot maneuver that brought her closer to the black hole and increased her speed, passing near the Stargate in the process. As soon as the Wraith hive ship did the same and approached the Stargate, the nuke was then beamed onboard, destroying the Wraith hive ship instantly and causing the wormhole to jump to the Supergate. The hive ship’s demise also indirectly caused destruction of an Ori warship that was lured by Teal’c into the activated Supergate’s unstable vortex. (SG1: "The Pegasus Project")

Behind the scenes[]
- This is the only Wraith ship to be featured outside of Stargate Atlantis.
- This Wraith hive ship was mentioned briefly in Stargate: The Ark of Truth.
- It was also the only Wraith hive ship so far to be fought against by the Odyssey herself.
