In 1906, a German expedition to Giza discovered the Dial Home Device needed to power the as yet undiscovered Stargate. The DHD later fell into the hands of the Russians at the end of World War II. (SG1: "Watergate")
In 1982, during the Cold War, a team including the then Captain Jack O'Neill and Captain Charles Kawalsky went to East Germany to a house that is suspected to house a Russian agent. However, the mission failed and O'Neill's superior officer was killed by a surprise attack from armed Russians. (SG1: "The Gamekeeper")

- Jason Momoa, who plays Ronon Dex in Stargate: Atlantis, has German origins.
- Heckler & Koch, manufacturer of the G36K, H&K MP5A3 submachine gun and MP7 submachine gun, is located in Germany.
- Several times German Atlantis personal can be seen walking by, sometimes with the badge turned upside down, leaving the golden part of the flag at the top and the black part at the bottom.
