Genii outpost 17 is a Genii outpost used to conduct salvage operations on the planet Visnareth Asnivan.
Overview[]
The submerged parts of city that is on the planet is full of valuable metals and plastics that the Genii retrieve and transport back to the Genii homeworld. The outpost has divers, a submersible, and multiple boats that explore for various potential salvage sites. Captain Davon Minos is in charge of the outpost.
History[]
The Genii had problems with the native intelligent squid species ramming their boats and going after their divers.
The Atlantis expedition used a translation program on a Puddle Jumper to talk to the squid species. A deal was made with the squids that they would take the Genii to the locations of metal that were in the squid's hunting grounds. In exchange, the Genii would leave the cliffs where the squids teach their young alone and would go soon. (SGA: "From the Depths")
