The G36 is a Tau'ri assault rifle used by Stargate Command and the Atlantis Expedition. The rounds fired by those weapons are capable of piercing Jaffa, Ori Soldier and Wraith body armor, and enough of those weapons, as well as other types could also be capable of eventually piercing Vanir armor, and killing mutated hosts to interdimensional parasites. Those weapons can be found stored in such areas including Stargate Command, Atlantis, the Midway space station and onboard Daedalus-class vessels. The G36 is used by several members of the SG and Atlantis teams, including Col. Albert Reynolds of SG-3. The rifles at times replaced the widely used P90, particularly to Lt. Col. Mitchell of SG-1, on such missions including the taking back of the missing Stargates from Ba'al, and stopping the interdimensional parasite, as well as Lt. Col. Sheppard of the First Atlantis Reconnaissance Team, who used such a rifle to stop Koracen, the Vanir, and Michael Kenmore. In 2008, Teal'c and Ronon Dex used those weapons to repel a Wraith party, who were trying to take over the Midway Station and Stargate Command.
