France is country in Western Europe, south of United Kingdom, and the oldest historic ally of the United States of America.

History[]

The French government was informed of the Stargate's existence in 2003, along with the British and Chinese, and has had a limited participation in the program ever since. France is part of the Gate Alliance Treaty and sent personnel to Atlantis. (SGA: "Rising")

One of the International Oversight Advisory members; Jean LaPierre is from France. (SG1: "The Scourge")
