The Flames of Enlightenment are a great chasm of fire in the City of Celestis, where many, if not all of the Ori reside. To gaze upon the Flames is a gift and reward to loyal followers. Often when summoned to the Flames, one is transformed into a Prior.(SG1: "Origin", "The Fourth Horseman, Part 1")

After SG-1 killed the Ori with Merlin's weapon, the Flames went out. (SG1: "The Ark of Truth")
