The fission generator[1] is a device that produces unlimited energy which was created by the Tollans.
History[]
Some time before 1997, when the Tollans discovered that a nearby planet was inhabited by a sufficiently advanced civilization, the Tollans offered the residents this device, though the locals went on to use it for war. (SG1: "Enigma")
Behind the Scenes[]
Due to its name, and its ability to be turned into a destructive device, it is possible that the technology works in a similar way to our nuclear power stations. They use nuclear fission to create energy - the same process used in nuclear bombs.
