The Eye of Ra medallion is a pendant that bares the symbol of Ra.
History[]
The necklace was recovered in a dig site in Giza along with the Discovery of the Stargate in 1928. Catherine Langford spotted it on a table with artifacts being catalogued and ended up keeping it with her throughout her life. (Stargate)
In 1938, Catherine wore it while she traveled through the Stargate to save her father. Before she left Abydos, Aset used her Kara kesh to implant the mental suggestion for her to go back to Earth and assemble a team to one day return through the Stargate with enough power to destroy Ra and that she would mark this team with the Eye of Ra pendant. (SGO)

In 1996, Catherine gave Dr. Daniel Jackson her pendant before her went on the Abydos Mission. When the team encountered the Abydonians, they bowed at seeing the necklace's symbol, believing Ra had sent them there. Later, the Goa'uld Ra told Jackson that he would have to kill his companions to prove that Ra was their only god. Daniel asked about refusing that and Ra snatched off the medallion from his neck, declaring there could only be one Ra. Daniel eventually managed to retrieve the necklace and when he chose to stay on the planet, he gave Colonel Jack O'Neill the necklace to give back to Catherine, along with telling her it brought him luck. (Stargate)
After learning that the Stargate had been successfully engaged in 1945, Daniel visited Catherine in 1997. He noticed Catherine had the amulet and she told him she never takes it off. (SG1: "The Torment of Tantalus")

When Catherine died in 2005, her niece Sabrina Gosling presented Daniel the necklace at her funeral, as Catherine had wanted him to have it. Daniel said she should keep it since she was family, but Sabrina told him that Catherine had thought of him like a son and gave him the pendant. (SG1: "Moebius, Part 1")
