SGCommand
Eye3

Lt. Colonel John Sheppard with one eye that appears like a Wraith and the other human, after exposure to the unfinished Iratus bug retrovirus.[1]

Eyes are visual sensory organs.

Overview[]

Tau'ri[]

Humans have round black pupils and round irises that come in colors such as blue, brown, green, hazel, grey and amber. When humans lack perfect vision, they can potentially correct it with glasses.

The Tau'ri have various types of eyewear with different purposes. For example, night vision goggles allow them to see in the dark. They also have protective gear such as welding goggles, safety glasses and sunglasses. (SG1: "Prometheus", SGA: "Rising", "Coup D'etat")

They also have various equipment that serve as visual aids. This can include technology like telescopes and binoculars, which aid in seeing at far distances,[2] as well as being able to see small things bigger through a magnifying glass.[3] Equipment such as flashlights,[4] flares[5] and chem flares[6] are used to illuminate dark or misty locations to help them see. (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "Upgrades", SGA: "Thirty-Eight Minutes", "Conversion", "Whispers")

After Lt. Aiden Ford's biology was flooded by Wraith enzyme and he had been in Lantea's ocean for over an hour during the Battle of Atlantis in 2005, his left eye turned black. (SGA: "The Siege, Part 3")

Goa'uld[]

Goa'uld can make their eyes glow as well as the eyes of their host. (Stargate, SG1: "Children of the Gods")

The aesthetic of their Jaffa helmets typically took the form of a particular animal associated with whom the Jaffa Guard had served. The 'eyes' of some of these helmets could glow. (Stargate, SG1: "Children of the Gods")

Wraith[]

Wraith have round yellow irises with black slitted pupils. They have the ability to see in the dark, and when they do, their eyes glow with a cyan hue and their point of view also appears in this color. (SGA: "Sateda")

Some Wraith have tattoos that are situated around, above, or bellow an eye. (SGA: "The Siege, Part 1", "Allies", "The Queen", "Tracker")

Retrovirus[]

When the young Wraith Ellia was changing, after taking the unfinished Iratus bug retrovirus, one of her eyes turned red. After she infected John Sheppard, his eyes took on a Wraith appearance before the process was reversed. (SGA: "Instinct", "Conversion")

When Dr. Carson Beckett later changed Wraith into human form with the retrovirus, they had human eyes. (SGA: "Michael", "Allies", "Misbegotten")

Ori[]

When people would become Priors of the Ori, their irises would change to a grey cloudy appearance. (SG1: "The Fourth Horseman, Part 1")

When an Ori possesses someone, their eyes appear like flames. The Orici Adria's eyes could also appear like flames and they could also variate in color. (SG1: "Origin", "Flesh and Blood", "The Quest, Part 1")

After the Sodan Volnek was inflicted with a disease by a Prior, the appearance of his eyes later changed when the affliction progressed. His pupils took on a cloudy appearance and the area around them became bloody red. (SG1: "Arthur's Mantle")

Other races[]

The Unas point of view is green-hued. (SG1: "The First Ones")

Enkaran physiology is sensitive to atmospheric conditions. Even low level radiation can cause them to go blind and without a dense ozone they would die. Enkarans have yellow eyes. (SG1: "Scorched Earth")

Michael's experiment, that combined several life forms, was blind and instead relied on their hearing. (SGA: "Whispers")

List of eye colors[]
