Biography[]
Background information[]
He is the Sumerian god of water, knowledge, mischief, and creation, and is depicted as the keeper of gifts of civilization and a life-giving god. He is credited with creating humans to be servants of the gods. (RPG: "Knowledge is Power")
Enki repeatedly rebelled against the Goa'uld, with each time being in the favor of the Tau'ri. His preferred method appeared to be advancing Tau'ri knowledge, which gave them the tools they need to rise against the Goa'uld.
Enki aided Eresjkigal in defeating her sister Inanna. However, he also acted directly against Eresjkigal, freeing her prisoner Nergal which denied Eresjkigal methods of destroying the Tau'ri.
Eventually, he alienated so many Goa'uld, the System Lords banished him to the planet Abzu and erected a temple to remind him of his crimes. Eresjkigal denounced Enki for his betrayal and worked with a Sun god to imprison him on Abzu.
A Tok'ra councilor warned Bythal not to interpret Enki as being a Tok'ra or an ally of the Tau'ri or force for good. They instead believed Enki to be an agent of chaos and destruction, who aids humans because he sees them as instigators of the same.
Bythal also added a speculative note on the compiled information about Enki, that the councilor indicated Egeria might have called on Enki for aid when she sought to escape Ra. (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
