An Ear is an organ that enables the ability to hear and also, in mammals, it can enable body balance.

History[]

In 2006, Dr. Rodney McKay was trapped in a flooding Puddle Jumper after it crashed in Lantea's ocean. McKay raised the Jumper's pressure to slow the leaking. When he did that, he held his nose and blew down to equalize the pressure in his ears. (SGA: "Grace Under Pressure")

The Atlantis expedition was warned by the Flagisallus of a Coronal mass ejection. Their echolocation had a intense low-frequency pulse as well as an EM field, a combination of which is very dangerous to humans. Some of the effects included causing their ears to bleed and perforated their eardrums, which impaired their hearing. (SGA: "Echoes")

The Tau'ri have a type of Medical Thermometer that can read a person's temperature by inserting the device in the person's ear. (SG1: "Upgrades")
