Drey'auc of the Cord'ai Plains was a female Jaffa who was the former wife of Teal'c and mother to Rya'c.
Biography[]
Background information[]
Drey'auc was from the Cord'ai Plains on the planet Chulak. Like most Jaffa, she was loyal to the Goa'uld. After Teal'c revealed to her his mentor Bra'tac's doubt of the Goa'uld godhood, she urged her husband to tell Apophis of this. This loyalty continued even after her husband betrayed the Goa'uld, joining the Tau'ri, She worked diligently to restore Apophis' faith in her and her son so the Prim'ta ritual could be performed when Rya'c came of age. When Teal'c returned and stopped the ceremony, she informed him that Rya'c will die without a symbiote. He gave him his own and later replaced his with the one Captain Samantha Carter and Dr. Daniel Jackson stole. Drey'auc remained on Chulak under the care of Bra'tac. (SG1: "Bloodlines", "Threshold")
In 2003, Teal'c told Ishta that Drey'auc "could be as fierce as the wind... or as gentle as the sunshine. And she never feared to be either." (SG1: "Birthright")
1998[]
Drey'auc married the Jaffa Fro'tak after Teal'c had appeared to have abandoned them and joined SG-1, taking refuge in Fro'tak's financial and political security. But she had never stopped loving Teal'c, and a jealous Fro'tak betrayed them to Apophis when he saw the two embrace. Drey'auc permitted Rya'c to train with Bra'tac, having finally realized the rightness of Teal'c's cause. During one of their sparring sessions, Rya'c lost two teeth. Several days later, after the boy had been rescued from Apophis, Drey'auc realized that the teeth were no longer missing. Her attention to detail saved Stargate Command, and all of Earth from a virulent plague hidden by Apophis within the false teeth. Shortly afterward, she and Rya'c took refuge in the Land of Light, far from Goa'uld oppression. (SG1: "Family")
2002[]
Eventually, Drey'auc and Rya'c moved to a Jaffa rebel camp. It was there that her symbiote matured, and she was unwilling to allow any fellow Jaffa to sacrifice themselves for her and give her a new symbiote to sustain her, or to go on a raid to acquire one and thus place the whole camp in jeopardy. Consequently, she lived for a short time without an immune system, and died at the camp, leaving Teal'c and Rya'c completely devastated. (SG1: "Redemption, Part 1")
Alternate realities[]
- In an alternate reality visited by Daniel Jackson in 1998, both Drey'auc and her son Rya'c were killed when the SGA sent a nuclear warhead to Chulak in the hope of halting the attack on Earth. In revenge, Teal'c killed the SGA's commanding officer Brigadier General Jack O'Neill once Apophis' forces had invaded Cheyenne Mountain. (SG1: "There But for the Grace of God")
Alternate timelines[]
- In an alternate timeline accidentally created by SG-1, Drey'auc and Teal'c never married, although they did know each other. Consequently, Rya'c was never born. While Teal'c told Daniel Jackson that he would have considered it an honour to have been Drey'auc's husband, he would have instead proposed to Shan'auc had she not become a temple priestess. (Stargate SG-1: Moebius Squared)
- In another alternate timeline created by Ba'al in 1939, Drey'auc and Teal'c likewise married and had a son named Rya'c. The Cameron Mitchell of the proper timeline used this piece of information to convince Teal'c that they had known each other before history had been altered. (Stargate: Continuum)
