―TV Announcer[src]

Douglas "Doug" Anders was the actor from the TV show Wormhole X-Treme! who played "Grell", a character undoubtedly based on Teal'c.

Unlike Teal'c, however, Grell was a robot. Grell was not heard speaking, although it is clear he is capable of speech as Raymond Gunne ("Dr. Levant") and Yolanda Reese ("Major Monroe") ask him a question, but he is interrupted before he is able to answer. (SG1: "Wormhole X-Treme!")

Behind the scenes[]

  • Herbert Duncanson is the stand-in for Christopher Judge. He previously played Guard in the Stargate SG-1 episode "Beast of Burden".
  • In the commentary for "Wormhole X-Treme!", Joseph Mallozzi says that they didn't have Grell speak because Teal'c has similar situations in the show where Chris Judge is required to just "raise an eyebrow" instead of saying any dialogue. That same reason was given for the scene where Anders has string sticky-taped to his eyebrow, giving the false pretense that's how Teal'c does it.
  • In the end credits, his last name is given as "Anderson."
  • In real life, Christopher Judge's real first name is Douglas.
