Doranda was a planet in the Pegasus galaxy. It was one of the planets the Atlanteans seeded with Humans, who were described as a peaceful people.
During the war with the Wraith, the Atlantean Council ordered the scientists working on Project Arcturus to build an Ancient outpost and conduct research on the project. Eventually, a Wraith fleet arrived, including a hive ship, intending to cull the planet. The Atlanteans destroyed the Wraith fleet, using their experimental power source to power one of the Dorandians weapons. However the Project Arcturus power source had not been perfected. It began to overload and the weapon ended up destroying not only the orbiting Wraith ships, but leveling every building within range on the Planets surface. The Ancients eventually managed to shut the weapon off, but they were all killed by hard radiation while doing so.
10,000 years later, Rodney McKay attempted to complete the Atlanteans work, but ended up destroying Doranda and 5/6ths of it's solar system when Arcturus overloaded once again. (SGA: "Trinity")
