Professor Paul Langford, while leading a team for artifacts near the Great Pyramids in Giza, Egypt discovered a large metal ring-like object buried in the sand. This artifact would later be named a Stargate. This discovery would lead Earth into galactic conflicts and adventures and make it a galactic power in the Milky Way galaxy.[3]

Following the discovery of the Stargate[3] Langford and his daughter spent the next eleven years studying the artifact until it was activated by Doctor Wilhelm Brücke of the German Reich.[4]
In 1939, the Stargate was transported to the United States of America aboard the Achilles prior to the outbreak of World War II.[5]
In 1945, Langford, along with Doctor Ernest Littlefield were able to successfully activate the Stargate and sent Dr. Littlefield to the planet Heliopolis.[6]
In 2002, Major Samantha Carter compared the development of the X-302 as being the biggest breakthrough since the discovery of the Stargate.[7]
In 2009, Dr. Nicholas Rush told Chloe Armstrong that he believed that the Destiny was the important discovery mankind had made since the Stargate.[8]
