Destiny lamps are Ancient-designed light-generating machines found aboard Destiny.

Overview

Ancient espresso machine

An inactive lamp.

Destiny's lamps were likely created by the Ancients around the same time as Destiny. They are not very bright, only lighting up about as much area as a low-watt lightbulb would, though it is possible that they have higher settings. They are placed in the mess hall, the crew quarters, and the observation room. The Destiny expedition makes extensive use of them, presumably because of their ubiquity and compatibility with the ship's recharging plates. (SGU: "Air, Part 2")
