The Gulf War was a conflict on Earth in Iraq that resulted from the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2, 1990. Military force was used starting January 17, 1991 and continuing through to February 28, 1991.

History[]

Colonel Jack O'Neill served in the Gulf War with Colonel Frank Cromwell. During a skirmish, O'Neill was injured by Iraqi troops, and believing he was killed, Cromwell made his team his first priority, and left him behind. O'Neill would spend the following four months in an Iraqi prison. (SG1: "A Matter of Time")

Captain Samantha Carter logged over 100 hours in enemy airspace during the Gulf War. (SG1: "Children of the Gods")

During the War, Carter had a friend whose chopper went down and she was knocked unconscious. When the friend came to, her memories and identity before the crash were gone. (SG1: "Past and Present")

Vernon Sharpe was a Motor Pool Officer during the Gulf War. He believed that the government experimented on him during his service. (SG1: "Sight Unseen")

Lt. Colonel Harlan Beck served under O'Neill during the Gulf War. (SG1: "Fragile Balance")

During the war, Emmett Bregman filmed a documentary in Iraq. (SG1: "Heroes, Part 1")

Reginald Greer served in the Gulf War and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. He was in a military hospital with fellow Gulf War veteran Virgil Biggs. (SGU: "Lost")

General George S. Hammond was a participant with the Coalition Forces and received the Saudi Arabian Kuwait Liberation Medal. (SG1: "The Enemy Within")
