Delos, designated P7X-978 by the Tau'ri, was a planet in the Milky Way galaxy which held a Stargate and was home to a native population.
History[]
An arid planet which was full of scrubland interspersed with salt-filled seas, Delos was one of many planets ruled over by the Goa'uld Zeus after he stole his power from his father, Cronus. Indeed, Zeus came to use Delos as his throne world despite the fact that he preferred Olympus. Soon after this, however, Cronus began the task of regaining his worlds and sent his agents to infiltrate Delos, spreading discontent and rebellion among the populace while telling tales of the "benevolent" Titan Cronus, who Zeus had overthrown. This plan worked better than Cronus could have hoped, as a rebellion started on Delos at the same time as he was attacking the planet to regain it as his own. These attacks forced Zeus to become holed up in his own palace, with his own Jaffa either dead or turning against him, and Cronus crushing his fleets. Cronus once again claimed Delos as his own, regaining his seat of power and imprisoned Zeus on the hellish planet of Tartarus.
After Cronus's death at the hands of SG-1, however, Zeus was freed from Tartarus and reclaimed most of the lands that he had lost to Cronus. Delos was one of these planets, and Zeus did not forget the role they played in his downfall. Since Zeus's return, the people of Delos barely managed to survive, scraping together enough so that they were able to live toil-filled lives. Because of their previous actions, Zeus tasked the planet with building new warships for his armies, placing the main construction site for these ships within a mile of the Stargate. In addition to this, the people of Delos were often tasked with performing the most dangerous of tasks which Zeus required during his reconquest, including mining for naquadah on Arcadia.
